Wheel chair fun
Issy's has had a trial wheelchair for the last week. It had flashing lights and looked like a real racer. Someone turned up to take the trial one back and give her, her old one back, so we all had a quick turn in it. Even Mrs G had a go! We are all looking forward to seeing Issy's new one early next year! It sounds like it is going to be sooooooooooooooooo much fun!
Rugby League Skills
This week we had Benson from 'Rugby League Northland' come into our school to teach us about this exciting contact sport. We learn't about the importance of warm-ups, how to hold the ball (in a hamburger hold), and how to run with a ball. Here is a picture of me doing my version of the Hamburger hold as I run around markers.

Deputy principal award
Today I did excellent work with Mrs H, so Mrs G and Mrs H decided I could go and show the principal. He was busy, but Mrs Ayr looked instead. I was really happy.

Butterfly garden expert visits
Today we had another visitor in our classroom. This was Julie from Enviro-Schools, She came into our class as a way of supporting us in the inquiry topic, that has our classroom buzzing with ideas about why and how plants are important.
Today we learn't lots about butterflies, caterpillars and swan-plants, along with ideas that we can use to help create our butterfly and bee sanctuary. We liked how you agreed with us, that we should set up a separate area, and you gave us lots of other ideas too on why and how we could make this happen. WE ARE SOOOOO EXITED!
Thanks Julie, we look forward to receiving your package in the mail to support our Room 4 (Year 1) learners.

Issy sings Frozen
The other day, Issy was SOOOOOOOO excited about a book.
She had woken up really early, and was practising singing, the song that was in her book, to the cat, when mum had gotten up. She then brought it to school to share. We asked if she would like to sing the song to the class after she shared the book. She asked if we could record her so we could pop it up on her blog.
HERE IT IS ISSY!!!

Today I was playing around with the "Show me" app. I was practising counting the objects in a set by "matching the count".
